“Unvoiced Diaries” Instagram Live with Önder Baloglu – Tolga Yayalar

After receiving his bachelor’s degree from Berklee College of Music, Tolga Yayalar, who continued his composition studies with İlhan Usmanbaş and Kamran İnce at the Advanced Studies in Music Center of Istanbul Technical University, completed his PhD studies at Harvard University in 2010. During this time he worked with composers such as Chaya Czernowin, Julian Anderson, Brian Ferneyhough, Helmut Lachenmann and Sir Harrison Birtwistle. He has been teaching Composition courses in Bilkent since 2011 and he became the Head of the Music Department two years ago. Tolga Yayalar generally produces in the field of musical instruments. The focus of his music is the idea of constructing a world of sound that goes beyond stylistic tendencies and turning music into an auditory experience.
